Saturn Return Collection

In astrology, a "return" describes when a planet is once again in the position it was when you were born. The period of time between returns varies based on the planet, as some planets have very long orbits around the sun and some have very short ones. The planet Saturn takes about 29.4 years (10,756 Earth days) to orbit the sun, and I turn 29 in 12 days! The period of Saturn return is a time of great change in your life, and the first time you experience it is considered to be an astrological "coming of age", as you rethink your responsibilities, career, relationships, and lifestyle. It is a time of growing pains and metamorphosis.

According to this article from The Cut, Saturn entered Pisces on March 7, 2023, marking the beginning of its return for anyone born between January 28, 1994 and April 7, 1996, including me! Since that date, I have expanded my yarn business by orders of magnitude, completed a Master's degree, committed myself to a future with my partner (aka signed a lease together), lost my soul cat, and radically changed my appearance with a haircut and new tattoos. Most importantly, I've grown a stronger sense of myself as well as what I want my future to look like.

In times of change and upheaval, I always turn back to tarot cards, which were the inspiration for this collection. In tarot, there is a tie to astrological signs and you can use the cards to find guidance based on your own chart. I am a Libra, which is an air sign, so cards within the suit of Swords are the most relevant to me if they appear during a reading. This collection will draw inspiration from the suit cards as well as the "face" cards (or Major Arcana) that I feel are resonating with me the most during this time of transition.

The Saturn Return Collection will be available for preorder on Wednesday October 2nd! This collection will consist of 8 colorways (4 tonal/semisolid and 4 variegated) as well as sock sets. Each colorway will be available on fingering*, DK, worsted, and lace mohair bases. Color reveals begin later this week, so make sure you're following along on my instagram!

*This collection will feature a high-twist fingering base, which is 85% superwash merino and 15% nylon. It is identical in fiber content to my other fingering base but is plied differently.
